You Know It's A Boy

How many ways have you heard of to predict the sex of your baby? Do strangers on the street come up to you and speculate about the sex based on how you are carrying, or the condition of your skin? Have you tried the test where you suspend your wedding ring by a thread and see how it spins? Believe it or not, none of these legends has any validity -- not even the rumor of faster heartbeats in boys (or was that girls?). But it can be fun to speculate.

Another homemade way to predict the sex of your unborn baby- remember, you have a 50/50 chance of being right- is to look at your breasts in front of a mirror. If your left breast is slightly larger, then your baby will be a girl. If the right breast is larger, then expect a son.

Or, if you want to try and find out the sex of your baby, you can always try the "Chinese Gender Predictor." The story goes that this chart was found buried in a tomb in Beijing more than seven hundred years ago. The predictor uses the mother's birthdate and the date of the baby's conception in order to determine the sex of your unborn baby. Visit Gender to locate the predictor.

Another homemade way to predict the sex is based on numbers as well. The mother uses her age at the time that the baby was conceived. Then, add the number that correlates to the month the baby was conceived in. That is, January would be 1, February is 2, March is 3, and so on. Add the mother's age to the month. If the resulting total is an even number, then the sex of the unborn baby is a boy. If the total is an uneven number, then the parents should expect a girl.
